I’m no doctor so my information is from other sites that specialize in rrp. RRP stand for Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatatosis. In simplest form this is a disease in which tumors grow inside the larynx, vocal cords and trachea. There is no known cure for RRP. Surgery is the main method of controlling this condition. Although there are a few adjunct therapies to try none have shown 100% remission.
RRP is caused from the human papilloma virus HPV. That’s right I know you all must know about HPV since the big hype now is the vaccine to prevent hpv. It’s estimated that 6 million new cases will occur every year. It can be passed from mother to child.
They used to tell you it’s no big deal millions of people have HPV that are sexually active. They tell you a rare amount will get cervical cancer but they never mention that it can stay dormant for a while and then appear. Or come and go for that matter. They never mention that it’s possible you could be passing it onto an unborn child. I guess because only a very small percent will pass it along that they think it’s not worth mentioning. But being a mother who is going through it. I DISAGREE!
