Well we decided to go ahead with another surgery. It was a bit sooner then we had originally planned but she barely had a voice and I felt terrible for her.
We didn’t give her the versed this time. The separation was a bit harder for the both of us but when she came back to us it was wonderful. She didn’t cry at all and she took a nap for an hour and then we gave her some juice and we left.
Her voice is amazing now. She of course is talking all the time. When adults have this type of surgery they tell them to stay on voice rest for a couple of days, but try explaining that to a two year old who is so excited to have her voice back.
Her doctor did say that it was pretty much the same amount as before no worse no less and on the same area her vocal cords. That’s why her voice just goes at the first sign of a pap. So the DIM isn’t working on her yet if it’s going to at all. But we still have a whole bottle that we will continue to use at least till that’s all gone. It’s not hurting her and it might just eventually kick in.
Her doctor also sat and talked with us for a bit before the surgery which was really nice. She did say from her experience with this she says that when the child has it in a localized area they seemed to eventually build up a immune response and go into remission. She said she is going to a seminar next month and will be sure to see if there is anything new on the horizon. I told her about the things I have read on Celebrex and such. She said that they did a study once before on the COX 2 inhibitors and much didn’t pan out.
So we continue to pray for a cure or that her body will fight this off all on it’s own. I know she is definitely a tough cookie so I’m guessing it will be the latter of the two.
I love you little girl. You did such an awesome job at your surgery.
